Case Study – City of Hammamet :
Touristic map of Hammamet shows hotels as if they were surrounded by green fields. In fact Hammamet, all kinds of immigrant towns/suburbs are being built as immigrants from the southern part of the country come to find work.Separation of tourists and locals is a conscious politics of Tunisian government. However there are very big differences in the level of investments between the housing and hotels zones.
Tunisia – Case Study 1:
Citizens of Hammamet were moved out of their houses in center of the city to allow the development of hotels. However their new places of inhibition is located in arrears that soon may become very attractive for the tourists due to the picturesque view and proximity to the beach.
Tunisia – Case Study 2:
Due to the long and expensive construction process people very often live in unfinished houses. There are some very interesting processes connected with inhabiting of unfinished spaces. One of them is the change of use. Usage of space during elongated <construction period may influence its program in the final stage if it would be reached.
